How we work

Winter Springs Performing Arts is an educational theatre. Once you have an audition slot, you are guaranteed placement in one of our shows.  Your audition will help us understand what level you are performing at, and what you need to learn. You will be placed in the production that will best support your theatre education.

Step by step sign up:

  1. Fill out the form to the right. Once you submit the form you will be sent to “Auditions Manager”.
  2. There, you will find all the audition requirements and details. You will also reserve your audition time slot.

You will be able to choose from the following audition times:

Thursday, July 20, 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Saturday. July 22, 12:00 – 3:00 pm
Tuesday, July 25, 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Saturday, July 29, 12:00 – 3:00 pm
ADDED DUE TO HIGH DEMAND: 
Late Auditions- Saturday, August 5, 10:30 – 11:30 am

We also will accept video submissions for anyone unable to attend in person auditions. For the video, we ask for the song excerpt and/or monologue that suits any shows that you are interested in. Please still register on Audition Manager, but do not select a time. For the video, you can submit through Dropbox, Google Drive, attach the video itself, or upload your video to Youtube as an “unlisted” video. Please then email the link to reception@winterspringsarts.org.

Play That Goes Wrong Callbacks: Monday, August 7th, 6:00 – 8:30 pm (The day after ACL closes)
Tuck Everlasting Callbacks: Tuesday, August 8th, 5:30 – 8:30 pm

New students: Parents must attend a parent meeting and can do so during auditions.

The magic tree house whisks Jack and Annie back in time to the foggy streets of Victorian London, where they meet the famous, well-off author, Charles Dickens, who has a severe case of writer’s block. Jack and Annie also witness the hardships faced by the poor, and their efforts to help only land them in prison. Mr. Dickens rescues Jack and Annie, and they, in turn, help him escape the sad memories that haunt him. In the process, they inspire Mr. Dickens to write one of the greatest holiday stories of all time.
Audition requirements: 16-32 bars (30-60 seconds) of a song of your choice, the style of the show is encouraged. Memorization is encouraged but not required. You may sing a cappella, with a track on a a device that you bring with you, or bring sheet music and an accompanist will be provided. Callbacks will be held on August 19th, at the first rehearsal.

Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture, Legally Blonde The Musical JR. is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. The show’s instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit and sass — leaving cast members and audiences alike seeing pink!

You may sing a cappella, with a track on a a device that you bring with you, or bring sheet music and an accompanist will be provided. Callbacks will be held on August 19th, at the first rehearsal.

From Mischief, Broadway masters of comedy, comes the smash hit farce. Welcome to opening night of the Cornley Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences! Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award–winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!

Audition requirements: 30 second – 2 minute comedic/farcical monologue of your choice. Memorization is preferred for auditions but not required. Callbacks will consist of cold reads and some improvisational exercises.
We will double cast this production. Each cast will have 3 performances.
Callbacks: Monday August 7th, 6:00pm – 8:30pm
What would you do if you had all eternity? Eleven-year-old Winnie Foster yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but not until she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck Family does she get more than she could have imagined. When Winnie learns of the magic behind the Tuck’s unending youth, she must fight to protect their secret from those who would do anything for a chance at eternal life. As her adventure unfolds, Winnie faces an extraordinary choice: return to her life, or continue with the Tucks on their infinite journey.
We will be producing this show as a staff/student collaboration. Some roles will be played by WSPA staff members.
