1-Week Non-Audition Summer Camps

We are super excited to be offering week-long non-audition musical theater camps again this summer! Each week-long camp will include new songs, choreography and scene work designed with the student’s learning levels in mind. Each week will offer something different, new and exciting. All of our musical theater camps will be held in our Academy Studio right next door to the Stage. Most camps starts each day at 9:00 am and ends at 2:45 Monday – Thursday. Fridays we will stay later to have our performance at 3:45 and be all done at 4:00 (*). Parents are welcome to attend our performance, but we will also record it and make it available each Friday night for families to enjoy! Bring your lunch, comfy clothes, and smile, and join us all summer! Camp size is limited to 15 students so sign up today!
(*) Tech camp, Dance Intensive Camp, Costume Design and Super Kids Improv Camp will not include a performance on the last day, and will release at the normal time.

Our immersive summer program caters to creative minds aged 12-18, offering hands-on experience in the world of set design for theater. Participants will learn the fundamentals of conceptualizing, drafting, and building sets. The main focus will be on learning to create a diverse range of textures to enhance their sets. From weathered wood and crumbling stone to sleek metal and plush fabrics, participants will explore techniques such as scenic painting, distressing, sculpting, and fabric manipulation. They’ll experiment with various tools and materials, including paint, plaster, foam, fabric swatches, and found objects, to master the art of texture creation. Whether crafting the rustic charm of a medieval castle or the futuristic gleam of a sci-fi spaceship interior, campers will develop the skills to bring their creative visions to life with depth, dimension, and authenticity. This camp provides a dynamic blend of theory and practice in a collaborative and supportive environment. Join us for an unforgettable summer of creativity, innovation, and artistic expression!

It’s getting colder! In the middle of summer! Join us for the retelling of the beloved story of Elsa, Anna, and Olaf with hit songs from the popular Frozen movies. It’ll be something worth melting for!

What does it mean to be a princess (or a prince)? Is it escaping towers, following your dreams, and having kindness? Find out with our princess friends, with singing and dancing to come!

Pirates sailing the seas and singing sea shanties! Mermaids with their under-the-sea musicals and fun on the seashore! It will be a fintastic time, almost more fun than hunting for treasure.

 

At our Wishes and Wonders summer camp, dreams are taking center stage and wishes are coming true! Campers will enjoy a fun-filled week of activities in music, dance, acting, and visual art based on feature films like: Pinocchio, Aladdin, Princess and the Frog, Cinderella, Encanto, Wish, and Tangled! Campers will also get to unleash their creativity in our Wishful Thinking Workshops through improvisation, storytelling, and character development exercises. Our main goals for this week are to build confidence, encourage collaboration, and foster creativity. At the end of the week, a special themed performance for friends and family will showcase all the fun we had!

 

Strap on your boots, grab your compass, and join us for a week of theatrical thrills and epic escapades at our Adventure Is Out There summer camp, where everyday is a new adventure waiting to be discovered! Campers will enjoy a fun filled week of activities in music, dance, acting, and visual art based on feature films like: Peter Pan, Tangled, Hunchback, Brave, Little Mermaid, Tarzan, and Pocahontas. They will tackle thrilling challenges, like solving witch’s riddles and “escaping” pirate guarded dungeons in teamwork exercises. They will also learn to think on their feet and embrace the unexpected by diving into the world of improvisation and character development. At the end of the week, a special themed performance for friends and family will showcase all the fun we had! No class on 7/4.

 

Join us for a week of valiant exploits and daring deeds, where every camper has the chance to be a true hero of the stage. Campers will enjoy a fun-filled week of activities in music, dance, acting, and visual art based on feature films like: Moana, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, and Pocahontas. In our Hero Training workshops, campers will embark on a quest to discover their inner courage through improvisation, character development, and storytelling exercises. They will also complete Epic Quests in which they must journey through mythical realms, solve riddles, and conquer obstacles in order to save the day. Our main goals for this week are to build confidence, encourage teamwork, and foster creativity and empathy through exploring the motivations and struggles of fictional and historical heroes. At the end of the week, a special themed performance for friends and family will showcase all the fun we had!

Our Hakuna Matata summer camp “ain’t no passing craze!” It means “no worries,” – and at this super chilled-out camp, that’s our main motto! Join us for a week of laughter, friendship, and unforgettable performances as we embrace the spirit of Hakuna Matata and leave our worries behind. Campers will enjoy a fun-filled week of activities in music, dance, acting, and visual art based on feature films like: Oliver and Company, Lion King, Mary Poppins, Frozen, Jungle Book, and Cars. Campers will learn the art of improvisation, where anything goes and the only rule is to have fun! Through these hilarious games and exercises, campers will discover the joy of spontaneity, letting loose, and just being yourself. Our main goals for this week are to build confidence and resilience, learning to bounce back from setbacks and challenges with a positive attitude, and to create a mindfulness mindset, learning to live in the present moment and embrace the joy of the here and now. At the end of the week, a special themed performance for friends and family will showcase all the fun we had!

 

Mutant spiders, super strength, and laser beams. These are the super powers we think of for superheros. But have you ever thought what type of hero you would be? Become your own superhero through creativity, stunt work, singing, and powerful dance moves.

 

Explore the Elements of Improv in our improv classes. You will learn some of the core fundamentals and principles of improv, focusing on various games and exercises that encourage trust, communication, agreement (“yes and”); active listening, character, status, and making your scene partner look good. Through this class, students will achieve personal growth and self-confidence that will help them to excel in other areas. Improv is a great tool to enhance skills in working with others, problem-solving, developing confidence, and a creative style.

Finish off the summer with a week-long dance intensive, taught by Amy Sullivan, Alexander Iacuzzo, and more! Featuring stretch classes, ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, modern, & more, this week will prepare you for future programming and beyond. With a strong focus on technique and level differentiation based on ability, this week-long intensive will have something new for everyone and leave you a more confident dancer.

Our immersive summer program caters to creative minds aged 10-18, offering hands-on experience in the world of costume design for theater. Guided by our experienced instructors, campers will learn the fundamentals of costume design, including color theory, practical construction techniques, fabric selection, and character analysis. Campers will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity as they sketch and conceptualize their own unique costume designs. From historical attire to futuristic ensembles, the possibilities are endless! They will work with a variety of materials and tools to bring their designs to life, gaining valuable skills that they can apply in future creative endeavors. They will also get the opportunity to work directly with our production team on our show-in-a-week production of Seussical (performances on August 9th and 10th), creating pieces for some of the most well-loved and wacky characters of Dr. Seuss’s imagination. At our Costume Design and Construction Summer Camp, campers will not only learn valuable skills but also gain confidence in their artistic abilities and make lasting memories with fellow campers who share their passion.

I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian of the above listed minor, and as such, I hereby convey temporary authority to any adult employee or agent of the Winter Springs Performing Arts Center Foundation, Inc (the "WSPA") for the sole purpose of obtaining emergency medical or dental care for the Minor that is recommended by a licensed healthcare provider to whom the Minor was presented for treatment and as may be deemed necessary for the well-being of the Minor when not accompanied by a parent / legal guardian, or should either parent / legal guardian be unreachable by telephone, text message, or e-mail. I hearby release any licensed healthcare provider providing medical care to the Minor in reliance of this form from liability relating to such healthcare provider's acceptance of my substitute caregiver's consent. I further hold harmless and release WSPA, it's employees, and agents from any liability associated with their efforts and decision to obtain medical care for the Minor. I further approve and empower any adult employee or agent of WSPA with the authority to arrange and / or consent to any and all emergency medical or dental care treatment of the Minor in my absence. I hereby assume full financial responsibility for any medical care or treatment provided by any health care provider who provides medical care to the Minor. This Medical Authorization And Release Form shall remain in effect until it is revoked by notifying, in writing, the appropriate healthcare providers and WSPA that I wish to revoke it.
