Improv, D&D Character Development,  Dance & Acting Classes

All classes begin the week of  June 2nd, and continue through the week of Aug. 4th.

Classes are held in the WSPA studio and classroom, Unit 137, next door to the Stage except for Improv which is held at The Stage.

Teen Beginning Ballet

Perfect for teens new to ballet, this class introduces foundational ballet techniques and terminology in a supportive and engaging environment. Students will explore barre work, center exercises, and across-the-floor movements while building strength, flexibility, and confidence.

Advanced Ballet

This class is designed for students ready to advance their ballet skills while enjoying the excitement and beauty of classical ballet! Focusing on ballet terminology and technique, students will practice barre work, center, and across-the-floor exercises. They will deepen their understanding of body alignment, movement quality, carriage of the upper body, and flexibility. Geared towards early intermediate dancers ages 13 and older.

Ages: 13+ (minimum 2 years of ballet experience required)

Tap – Beginner

Ages: 8-12

This beginner tap class introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of tap dance. Students will learn basic steps, rhythms, and combinations while developing coordination, musicality, and a sense of timing. Perfect for ages 8-12, this class provides a fun and engaging introduction to the world of tap dance.


Tap – Intermediate

Ages: 13+
Schedule: Thursdays, 5:45 PM – 6:45 PM

Designed for older students with prior tap experience, this intermediate-level class focuses on advancing tap techniques, rhythms, and combinations. Participants will refine their skills, enhance their musicality, and explore more complex choreography. Geared towards ages 13 and up, this class is perfect for dancers ready to take their tap abilities to the next level.

Acting – Beginning

Ages: 8+
Schedule: Mondays, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

This course introduces younger students to, and builds upon for older students, some of the fundamental skills and tools required for developing the acting process. Students build self-awareness, develop their imagination and concentration, recognize their emotional truth, learn the actor’s vocabulary, and demonstrate the ability to be honest and committed in their acting. In addition, students learn how to behave as professional actors by demonstrating focus and respect in class, during rehearsals, and on stage.

Explore the exciting elements of improv in this beginner-level class! Students will learn core fundamentals and principles of improv, focusing on games and exercises that encourage trust, communication, agreement (“yes and”), active listening, character development, status, and making their scene partner look good. Through this class, students will achieve personal growth and self-confidence that will help them excel in other areas. Improv is a fantastic tool for enhancing skills in working with others, problem-solving, developing confidence, and fostering a creative style.

This class is for students ready to deepen their improv skills. Participants will build on foundational principles and explore more advanced techniques, including character-driven scenes, long-form improvisation, and ensemble collaboration. Placement in this class is based on experience and determined by the instructor after the first class.

For experienced improvisers, this advanced-level class offers a challenging and rewarding environment to refine and elevate their craft. Students will focus on mastering complex improvisational formats, nuanced character work, and high-level ensemble dynamics. Placement in this class is based on experience and determined by the instructor after the first class.

Character Development through Dungeons & Dragons

Step into a world of imagination, teamwork, and transformation! In this unique class, students will use the classic tabletop game Dungeons & Dragons as a creative tool to explore character development. By building and embodying original characters, students will gain a deeper understanding of motivation, backstory, emotional arcs, and relationships—all essential elements of strong storytelling and acting.

Whether you’re an experienced player or brand new to D&D, this class will challenge you to think critically, collaborate with others, and grow both as a performer and a storyteller. Roll for initiative—your next great character awaits!

Please type your name and today's date above to acknowledge authorization. I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian of the above listed minor, and as such, I hereby convey temporary authority to any adult employee or agent of the Winter Springs Performing Arts Center Foundation, Inc (the "WSPA") for the sole purpose of obtaining emergency medical or dental care for the Minor that is recommended by a licensed healthcare provider to whom the Minor was presented for treatment and as may be deemed necessary for the well-being of the Minor when not accompanied by a parent / legal guardian, or should either parent / legal guardian be unreachable by telephone, text message, or e-mail. I hearby release any licensed healthcare provider providing medical care to the Minor in reliance of this form from liability relating to such healthcare provider's acceptance of my substitute caregiver's consent. I further hold harmless and release WSPA, it's employees, and agents from any liability associated with their efforts and decision to obtain medical care for the Minor. I further approve and empower any adult employee or agent of WSPA with the authority to arrange and / or consent to any and all emergency medical or dental care treatment of the Minor in my absence. I hereby assume full financial responsibility for any medical care or treatment provided by any health care provider who provides medical care to the Minor. This Medical Authorization And Release Form shall remain in effect until it is revoked by notifying, in writing, the appropriate healthcare providers and WSPA that I wish to revoke it.
